An Algerian methane vessel rescued 30 irregular immigrants of different nationalities who were shipwrecked off the coast of Sardinia after being requested by the Italian coast guard.

The LNG tanker Tessala, with a capacity of 171,000 cubic meters, received an “emergency call” from the Italian coast guard at 14:00:00 local time as they pass near Sardinia for a rescue operation of irregular immigrants who were on board a ship that had run aground on the high seas.
The Tessala responded “very quickly” to the call by boarding all the stranded passengers, of which there was no Algerian, said the source.
The rescued people were attended by the crew of the LNG vessel and then recovered by the Italian coast guard at around 15:30 local time, it added.
